How to move your data out of Harvest
Harvest’s CSV exports leave things out, like rates and which time is already invoiced. Its API gives the full picture, and Sheaf uses it to copy everything in one go.
1. Create a personal access token
Sign in to Harvest, open id.getharvest.com/developers and click Create new personal access token. Give it any name, like “Sheaf import”.
2. Copy your Account ID and token
The page shows your token and a list of accounts with their IDs. Pick the account for your team.
3. Paste them into Sheaf
In Sheaf, go to Manage → Import from Harvest, paste both and press Import. People, clients, tasks, projects and time entries come over with their rates. Nothing in Harvest changes.
4. Invite your team
Imported people show up on your Team page. Send each one an invite link and they’ll see their full history when they sign in.
After switching
You can revoke the token in Harvest any time. Sheaf doesn’t keep it.
